We were driving down the road about 1.5 weeks ago, and in the backseat I hear Jackson say to Morgan (who we often call MoMo), “Home Depot MoMo!”. We had not passed the store, I had not mentioned it recently, and I never did figure out what prompted him to say that. But we have done a number of things to our house since moving in, hence many trips to Home Depot and Lowes, and Jackson always enjoys accompanying Daddy and running up and down the huge aisles. So maybe he was saying it in hopes we were going there, rather than our typical errands which usually involve a shopping cart.
In other news, Morgan is finally pulling herself up, and starting to climb up on things. Her 2nd top tooth has finally broken through today (so our jokes about her one huge top tooth will be coming to an end soon!). It’s hard to believe she is about to turn 1 on the 29th - I’m trying to get her birthday organized before Christmas so that I won’t have to go out in the mad after-Christmas crowds. After a couple of months of being a more serious baby, Morgan has turned back into our little life of the party, always giggling and smiling at anyone she sees (usually with her great ’scrunchy’ smile). She and Jackson love to play hide and seek - Jackson hides and Morgan seeks. She crawls across the floor after him as fast as she can go, just laughing in her token “Morgan laugh”. It’s really adorable. Maybe by the time she turns 1 then her 9-12 month clothes will finally start to fit her!
Jackson has learned to sing his ABCs which are really cute, especially the part that is hardest for him, and where he sings “M M M M P”. He’s getting taller and thinner every day, partly because he never wants to eat anything! Morgan literally eats twice as much as he does at every meal. He’s full of energy, and we don’t know where that energy comes from. At least he will eat his vitamin each day! He’s also been spending a lot of time coloring with markers (washable, thank goodness), and does a pretty amazing job of coloring in the lines. I guess we never thought about the fact that 2 year olds don’t generally color in the lines until one of his Sunday school teachers mentioned it one day when we picked him up. Since then I’ve had a whole new appreciation for his drawings.
We will be spending the Christmas holidays at my parents along with Melissa and Dick. Jackson always loves visiting Nana and Papa, and we’ll enjoy spending Christmas in their new house. So for now, Merry Christmas everyone!
